Chapter 3

A Guide to Raising a Succubus

Wen Xi followed the tutorial and opened each icon in turn.
The shop was exactly what it sounded like—a place to buy things. Some items cost ordinary gold coins; rarer goods required Heart Coins only, earned by topping up—one yuan bought ten Heart Coins.
Outfit design came in two flavors: premium fashion and limited-time sets.
Premium outfits were pulled with gold—200 coins per pull. Limited sets used Heart Coins only—60 per pull, with the limited pool rotating every ten days.
Wen Xi skimmed both gacha pools.
The premium pool was mostly T-shirts, tank tops, jeans—everyday clothes.
This round’s limited pool, though, had a bell-nipple-chain top, a leopard-print leather skirt, and accessories: a rose gag, cat-ear headband, brown fluffy collar, black fishnets, and a cat-tail plug.
The set was called: Sexy Little Wildcat.
Wen Xi couldn’t help a cold snort.
Sexy little wildcat?
He already had an honest, chubby little dog at home.
He left the gacha and tapped the recorder.
Per the description, it logged the sprite’s daily state so the player could see what they’d been up to offline.
Last was the map—tapping it showed a list of public locations.
But every landmark was still grayed out: not yet available.
From experience, those gray icons would probably unlock as the character leveled.
The in-game explanation said the same.
After learning each icon, a newbie bundle popped up.
Wen Xi opened it: a thousand gold coins, twenty Heart Coins, and ten star candies for stamina.
After claiming, he returned to the main screen—and saw the in-game sprite having a rough time.
The window in the wall had somehow broken; cold wind howled straight in.
The sprite used magic to conjure a big sheet of cardboard and tried to plug the hole—but the cardboard held less than three seconds before the gale slapped it into his face.
The sprite startled and sat down hard; a crying emoji popped over his head.
Wen Xi thought: if he could make cardboard, couldn’t he make wood? Fix it properly?
Instead he watched the sprite climb off the floor, go to the bed, grab the blanket, and tumble into the empty bathtub.
There was no water; he pulled the blanket over his head to his toes, mummy-wrapped, and thought happily: 【Now the wind can’t get me.】
Wen Xi had no energy left to roast him.
“Ding~” A transparent finger pointed upper left for him to look.
There was a small succubus portrait; below it three colored bars: HP, mana, and fullness.
HP was green and full; mana was empty; fullness sat at half—overall, the sprite was still “safe.”
But one spell had zeroed his mana—so the broken window was the player’s problem to fix?
Soon Fenrir answered: 【The City of Succubi has been hit with awful weather lately, and our little Siran is in real trouble. Only you, dear Master, can save him—will you help?】
【Yes】【No】
Fine—a daily quest, as expected. No matter how dumb the sprite, he wouldn’t use cardboard on a window—that’d be brain-dead. His Intelligence was 10, not 0.
It was scripted, probably to force player–character interaction.
Once he got that, Wen Xi hit “Yes.” A small hammer appeared on the window; the handle flashed the word “Repair.”
Wen Xi figured it wouldn’t be that simple—there’d be a catch, like buying materials.
Sure enough.
He tapped “Repair” and failed; a red warning popped.
System: 【Window repair failed—not enough wood. Spend 200 gold on planks?】
【Yes】【No】
Same old tricks.
Luckily the gold came from the newbie pack—no real money needed—so Wen Xi tapped “Yes” without hesitation.
System: 【Planks purchased. Repairing…】
As the repair bar filled, the window fixed.
The sprite, still in the tub, stood up—blanket on his head, leaning on the tub rim—big eyes turning into little red hearts again.
Wen Siran: 【Wow! You’re such a mighty, awesome human!】
Gotta admit—the emotional payoff was on point.
The sprite climbed out of the tub.
Still wrapped in the blanket, only his face showing; two black squiggly lines appeared at his sides.
He sneezed hard—a teardrop of snot ran under his nose before he snorted it back.
Wen Xi checked his HP—a sliver had vanished. Extreme cold really threatened his health.
While Wen Xi wondered what to do next, a second bundle appeared.
Gift from Fenrir: 【Novice succubi are like human children—they can’t stand cold or hunger. Kind Fenrir offers a survival pack—please check your inventory.】
Wen Xi found Fenrir’s gift in his bag: a fluffy onesie pajama set and a box of rainbow candy.
The sprite grew colder, shivering; another chunk of HP dropped.
After claiming the pajamas, Wen Xi opened the “Dress” button on the right. The screen split—sprite on the left, categories on the right. Only a gray tee and the pajamas—no real choice but the pajamas.
To change clothes, he had to strip what the sprite wore first.
After “strip all,” the sprite stood bare—two X’s over his chest, and downstairs a literal yellow bird as mosaic.
At least the game had decency—protecting the little succubus’s privacy.
Wen Xi dragged the fuzzy pajamas onto him and saved; the sprite finally wore something thick and soft.
Still not enough—HP kept falling; he kept blowing on his palms.
Reminder from Fenrir: 【Sigh—the indoor temperature still isn’t enough. He’s so small; he needs care. Will you buy him a fireplace?】
【Go to shop】【No】
Since the newbie pack had currency, Wen Xi decided to look.
He tapped “Go to shop”; the page switched.
He was guided to the furniture market and the fireplace section.
Fireplaces came in many types—fancy brick, plain French floor models, built-in inserts.
Wen Xi skimmed them—only the built-in could be bought with gold, 500 coins; the rest cost Heart Coins.
Obviously pick the cost-effective one.
Done.
System: 【Built-in fireplace purchased. Tap Decorate to install.】
Back in the hut, the sprite paced the room, probably trying to warm up by moving.
Pitiful.
Wen Xi picked a blank wall, installed the fireplace, and lit it.
The gloomy little room filled with warm light at once. The sprite froze, then hurried to the hearth and stretched his short, chubby hands toward the flames.
Wen Xi already knew nothing weird would happen before the succubus came of age, so he tried turning sound on a little.
Pink bubbles rose over the sprite’s head, then a soft, sweet teenage voice: 【Polin, Lanke, Id wenle curu.】
【Human, thank you—I want to cry.】
Author’s note:
The sprite’s sincerity touched Wen Xi for a moment.
He’d almost forgotten he’d been forced into this game. The resentment he’d stored up suddenly drained away.
The game wasn’t that lewd or shameless—it worked hard to hook players as an adult-oriented raising sim.
Especially the character writing—personality and looks were both likable.
Plot-wise, it wasn’t lewd for lewd’s sake; it leaned into bonding between player and character, making a bland adult game feel interactive.
Wen Xi looked at the sprite on screen.
He wore rabbit pajamas; the hood had long ears. Moved to tears, his eyes were rimmed red; the flush on his nose spread a little—he really did look a bit like a rabbit.
All that over a cheap fireplace—he was almost crying. This much emotional feedback—the designers knew how to grab hearts.
“Grrrgl”—bad timing—his stomach rumbled; a horizontal wave crossed his belly with a “gurgle” caption.
His tears snapped back; his whole face flushed red. He yanked the hood down and tied the ears in a knot over his face to hide his embarrassment, muttering: “Ydu naran poce.”
【You didn’t hear that.】
He knew embarrassment? Too smart—like a real person.
Wen Xi smiled and noticed fullness had dropped sharply—nearly in the red. Time to feed.
Feed the candy from the gift? Or buy from the shop again?
What did succubi eat, anyway?
While he was thinking, Fenrir’s caption box popped up to explain.
